In 1963 AMIRA commenced a collaborative research project
with the principle aim of optimising mineral processing
operations. This applied research project is commonly
referred to as "The Mineral Processing Project"
or the "P9 Project". Over the past 45 years
the project has consistently delivered a range of benefits
to the sponsors resulting in significant improvements
in efficiency at sponsors' operations, including new
equipment and new tools to monitor, analyse and model
circuits. Many new innovations and products have been
delivered to sponsors. During this time the P9 project
has been extended in 3 to 4 year cycles. In 2004 we
commenced the fourteenth extension, P9N.
With
considerable input from sponsors, the project objectives
have been established. A total of 14 separately managed
but complimentary projects will be undertaken. The results,
IP rights, networking opportunities and site work will
be accessed by the 30 companies participating in this
project.
We
hope that this site will provide an introduction to the
project enabling anyone to understand the project, how
it operates and how to become involved. Access to confidential
project details is restricted to sponsors. Passwords allow
entry via the Sponsors Login section. |
